WGMC Traditional Program

Will Grundy Medical Clinic is a free clinic for those in Will and Grundy County who cannot receive access to healthcare from other entities.  We are the only free clinic in our two-county service area.  All services are provided by our volunteer providers.  They provide these services by either volunteering onsite at the clinic or by accepting patients at their practices through our referral system.  Services these providers donate  include primary care, specialty care, diagnostic tests and labs, prescription medications, therapies, surgeries, and patient education. Please note that dental services not currently available due to COVID-19.

Before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Will and Grundy Counties had a combined population of about 50,000 uninsured residents.  Every year, we seek to meet the needs of these people by seeing about 1,000 patients a year.  A majority of our patients have chronic conditions, with about half of these people having multiple chronic conditions.  By providing our patients with an opportunity to get their health under control, we seek to decrease unnecessary emergency room visits.  This not only impacts our patients, but it also saves the community money.

Mauro came to the clinic over two years ago with severe asthma and diabetes. Our volunteer providers and network of specialists provided him with access to critical medications and care necessary to manage these conditions. With our help, Mauro continues to manage his chronic conditions successfully.  Management of his health has meant the ability to continue to provide for his family.
